We know that the alternate name of the Haystack Farm was Grant.  The name Grant Farm is referred to in a sales add for Perry Park Estate between 1879 through 1881.  It was part of the 5,000 acre estate. The Grant Farm was south of today’s entrance to Perry Park.  It was described as one of the most charming and desirable pieces of property in the state. We also know that this farm became known as the Haystack Farm which has a bio on this web site. The only census records for the name Grant in Douglas County are for a Maurice Grant, but there is only limited information and it is not known if Maurice Grant was living in the Perry Park area.  If anyone has more information on this property please contact the Larkspur Historical Society.
